The start of Oregon Citizens For Science

On 2/12/09, Darwin’s 200th Birthday, a group of science-minded individuals started Oregon Citizens for Science.  OCS has adopted as its mission promoting the teaching of science in OR and the Pacific NorthWest.

Science, and rational thinking generally, are the best tools for solving problems on any scale.  By teaching science and rational thinking, and discouraging superstition and irrational thinking, we hope to promote peace, social well-being and economic prosperity for Oregonians.
